Adelaide Botanic Gardens Bush Food Trail (9.30 – 11:15am)

Start the day with a leisurely stroll around the Botanic Gardens to learn about Aboriginal bush foods and plant uses. Find out about:

Traditional duck hunting techniques.
Various other food gathering practices.
How boomerangs are made.
Where to find bush medicines.

To conclude enjoy the great tastes of the Australian outback and sample some native bush food products for morning tea within the beautiful surrounds of the Botanic Gardens.

Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute (11:30-12:50m)

Then a short walk to Tandanya for:

A walk through the Aboriginal art gallery.
A Didgeridoo or cultural performance demonstration.
Visit the retail shop with a large range of Aboriginal artefacts, artwork, books and gifts.

Enjoy Lunch in Adelaide’s East End (1:00-2:00pm)

Rundle Street East is Adelaide’s Cosmopolitan centre and a part of the historic East End of Adelaide. It’s full of cafes, hotels, restaurants and small interesting shops.

The East End is situated amongst a number of Adelaide’s popular attractions, including the Botanical Gardens, Wine Centre, Rymill Park, Rundle Mall, and the many cultural highlights and heritage buildings along North Terrace.

South Australian Museum – Aboriginal Cultures Gallery (2:15- 4:00pm)

After lunch take a short walk to see the Aboriginal Cultures Gallery at the South Australian Museum:

The Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery showcases the largest collection of Australian Aboriginal artefacts and archival material in the world.
